International Project Platform Offenbach (IPPO)



Petra Kellner (born 1953) completed a one year internship at gugelot design GmbH in Ulm (1972) after completing high school and then went on to study Industrial Design at Braunschweig University of Art (HBK) and Product Design at HfG Offenbach from 1973 until 1978. In 1978, she was awarded an annual DAAD fellowship for a study visit to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She worked as a research a research assistant at University of Design Schwäbisch Gmünd, where she assumed responsibility for the direction of the documentation project HfG Synopse initiated by Prof. Hans (Nick) Roericht, the first exhibition project on the history of the Ulm School of Design. She continues to explore the subject in various contexts to this day. During a further stay in Brazil from 1983 until 1985, she taught and researched at Laboratório Associado LDP/DI, an institute for product development founded by Prof. Gui Bonsiepe in Florianópolis, Brazil. Project coordinator and conceptual design at the design studio PER – Produktentwicklung Roericht in Ulm from 1985 until 1990. Lectureships at HfG Offenbach and a visiting professorship at University of the Arts Berlin from 1986 onwards. Professor at the School of Design (formerly Product design department) since 1990. In 2007, together with Prof. Georg Christof Bertsch Petra Kellner founded the international project platform IPPO. IPPO has been an institute at HfG Offenbach since 2014.
