The prize was officially awarded http:///www.hessischer-filmpreis.de" target="_blank">Hessischen Film- und Kinopreise 2014 on 10 October, 2014 in the Alte Oper, Frankfurt. The gala was moderated by HfG alumnus Carsten Strauch and actor Rainer Ewerrien. The jury decision Normally you would need to invent a special genre for "Richard & Gilbert" because this brilliant short film cannot really be fitted into any particular category. The film narrates in technical perfection and masterly tableaus, whoe lighting recalls Caravaggio, the gloomy story of a detective and his assistant, who have to solve a brutal series of murders, but also of a homoerotic attraction between the two men. A film in which every word, every glance, every shot appears to have turned out exactly as intended by author and director David Sarno - which is extremely remarkable - especially for a university film.
