HfG at the Fulldome UK 2014

On 7 and 8 November, 2014 the FullDome UK Festival took place in the National Space Centre in Leicester. Thomas Bannier, Nico Gebbe, Doreen Keck, Christian Öhl and Tim Seger presened their new FullDome films. There were four HfG films in the international competition in six prize categories. With his fulldome short film BEAT Tim Seger won the "Best Experimental" and the "Best in Show" Award, Fulldome UK 2014.

Two weeks previously Tim Seger won second prize with his film "BEAT" at the 2nd KOORDINATEN Festival of Three-Dimensional Media in Kiel.

Since 2006 short films have been produced at HfG Offenbach for 360° fulldome projections, and they premiier annually at the FullDomeFestival in the Zeiss Planetarium Jena. Under the supervision of Prof. Rotraut Pape, HfG and with support from the Hessen Film and Media Academiy, in winter semester 13/14 students from all Hessen universitis could take part in a highly varied series of workshops, where they learn how to develop and use this medium. Students from the Universtiy of Darmstadt supervised by Prof. Sabine Breitsameter supported the colleagues of HfG in adding sound to their immersive films. Script coach: Birgit Lehmann.
