ROBERT JOHNSON THEORY 26

Michaele Melián talks about the Siemens Studio for Electronic Music founded in 1959 and today housed in the Deutsches Museum Munich. It was one of the first in the BRD to focus on electronic sound (and the first to experiment with Vocodern). It was used by the likes of John Cage and Maurizio Kagel, but the space sounds of space patrol Orion were also generated here . Even the Warner Studios bought sounds that are still used today. Sounds from this studio were the starting point for Michaela Melián's own works..
An artist and musician Michaela Melián lives in Munich and Hamburg. She is a member of band F.S.K. (Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle) (founded 1980), her own music productions include "Baden-Baden", "Los Angeles" and "Monaco" on Monika Enterprise, Berlin. Since 2010 she has been a profesor at the University of Fine Arts (HfbK), Hamburg in Time-Based Media.
