At the beginning of the 2020 summer semester, Adrian Nießler was appointed to the chair of Communication Design in the School of Art together with Catrin Altenbrandt. They succeed Klaus Hesse, who held the professorship with the denomination Conceptual Design for 20 years, from 1999 to 2019.

Adrian Nießler (*1978 in Göttingen) lives and works in Frankfurt am Main. He studied at the HfG Offenbach. In 2006 he founded the Pixelgarten studio together with Catrin Altenbrandt. The studio's work includes projects from various areas of communication design, such as exhibition design, corporate design and editorial. The studio works for national and international clients such as Rosenthal, Tolix, Stattmann Furniture, Bildungsstätte Anne Frank - many of their works have been published in books and magazines.
