At the beginning of the summer semester 2020, Catrin Altenbrandt was appointed to the professorship of Communication Design in School of Art together with Adrian Nießler. They succeed Klaus Hesse, who held the professorship with the denomination Conceptual Design for 20 years, from 1999 to 2019.
Catrin Altenbrandt (*1978 in Hanau) lives and works in Frankfurt am Main. She studied at the HfG Offenbach. In 2006 they founded the Pixelgarten studio together with Adrian Nießler. The studio's work includes projects from various areas of communication design, such as exhibition design, corporate design and editorial. The studio works for national and international clients such as Rosenthal, Tolix, Stattmann Furniture, Bildungsstätte Anne Frank - many of their works have been published in books and magazines.
