Johanna Siebein (born 1982, Neustadt a.d. Weinstr.) studied communication design at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar in Saarbrücken and at the Kunsthochschule AKI in Enschede (Netherlands). She has been working with Dirk Laucke as a design duo under the name Laucke Siebein in Amsterdam and Berlin since 2010. Their commissions are located in the fields of art and culture, and are created in the context of Dutch and German design traditions. They have developed corporate design for the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, for the SpACE Lab of the Institute for Sustainable Urbanism, for the China Education Network, for Kiel Week 2023, campaigns for the network of free Berlin project spaces and initiatives, and numerous book publications and typeface designs, among others. Laucke Siebein has been awarded international design prizes for his concepts and designs and is widely published. In addition to her practice, Johanna Siebein has held workshops and lectures on her work, including Grafist Festival in Istanbul, Iceland University of the Arts in Reykjavík, Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart, Typoclub Afterwork Lectures Bern, Weltformat Festival Luzern, Form-Design Center in Malmö, Offset Conference in Sheffield, etc. In 2019, she was part of the jury for the 100 Best Posters Germany Austria Switzerland. In the summer semester of 2021, she taught Editorial Design as a substitute professor at Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle. Since winter semester 22/23 she has been Professor of Typography / Type Design at the HfG Offenbach.
