B3 and gamescom intensify cooperation

The B3 Biennale of the Moving Image and gamescom – the world’s largest event for computer and video games – are continuing the cooperation started in 2014. This was resolved by Dr. Maximilian Schenk, managing Director of BIU –German Trade Association of Interactive Entertainment Software, the sponsor of gamescom, and Prof. Bernd Kracke, Artistic Director of B3 and president at the Offenbach Academy of Art and Design. In fall 2014 gamescom had already been active as the main sponsor and cooperation partner of the B3 Think Tank as well as the B3 Autumn School talent festival.
»Computer games and developments like virtual and augmented reality all help fundamentally determine the future of the moving image,« adds B3 Director Bernd Kracke. »Within the scope of the cooperation we hope to more strongly connect computer and video games as a rapidly growing leading media of digital with the other areas of moving images.« As emphases of the cooperation in 2015, in addition to shared PR and marketing activities, Kracke and Schenk defined a wide programmatic exchange, themes. Both partners’ topics and speakers should be firmly anchored in the industry-specific and business programs of gamescom and B3.
The second edition of the B3 Biennale of the Moving Image will take place in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region from October 7-11, 2015 under the motto »Expanded Senses: Experiencing with all senses and shifting boundaries.«
