On Stage

For many years now Clemens Mitscher has, in his capacity as lecturer for photography and technology, been holding courses on Stage Photography at HfG Offenbach. Since September 2, 2014 the results have been on show in the central halls of major German railway stations: in the form of the »On Stage« touring exhibition. The exhibition is on display in Nuremberg's Hauptbahnhof from March 2-13, 2015. The tour has been kindly supported, among others, by Deutsche Bahn and Spotify.

The »On Stage« exhibition features 72 panels (each sized 250 x 120 cm) with stage and concert photos and offers a truly unique view on live productions of contemporary Rock and Pop music. At the same time, the project references the aesthetics of classical representatives of Rock photography. On show are not only spectacular images from over 500 concerts over the last four years, but also historical images of performances by Jimi Hendrix, The Yardbirds, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Madonna, Sex Pistols, Queen, Accept, Deep Purple, The Rolling Stones, Joe Cocker, AC/DC, David Bowie, Pink Floyd and others.
