Workshop »Template Profiling«

Workshop mit Isamu Marsden
The workshop aims to introduce and explore a simple traditional technique for shaping materials such as plaster, clay, wax, or concrete using rotational movement.
It will include a demonstration with a basic DIY setup that allows participants to shape plaster or clay into a specific form by rotating it against a custom-cut profile.
Isamu Marsden
»Through the simple yet forceful act of wood splitting, I seek to reveal the intricate structure of its grain—flowing and interweaving around knots and along the tree’s growth rings. A carefully selected split log is then used in a detailed moulding process to capture and reproduce its delicate fibers in porcelain. These sculptural impressions are transformed into everyday objects such as vases and coffee cups. At HPM, I aim to explore the translucency of porcelain to let light shine through the wood-like, undulating forms - highlighting the natural elegance of both materials.«
