Interactive functional prototypes are developed in the Digital Prototyping Lab. The work involves microcontrollers, electronic and electromechanical components, custom-made circuit boards and code. Programming is largely carried out in the popular Arduino IDE using C++, but occasionally also in Python and other programming languages. The lab’s stated aim is to make models interactive and to enable interaction concepts to be experienced and validated through the models. In the Music Electronics Laboratory, which is attached to the Digital Prototyping Lab, electronic musical instruments are designed and built.
